May is Mental Health Awareness Month*
In conjunction with the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards and other statewide advocacy agencies, Gogebic Community Mental Health Authority is hosting its 5th Annual - Walk a Mile in My Shoes Rally.

Together, we can make a difference by:

-Educating legislators why mental health matters

-Ending stigma related to mental illness & intellectual/developmental disabilities

-Educating others about how parity between mental health & physical health coverage is needed in Michigan

-Promoting mental health wellness and why it’s important

Who Should Participate: Mental health & intellectual/developmental disability advocates, community associations, legislators, and the general public.

When: Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 – Registration 10:00 a.m. ~ Program 10:30 a.m. ~Walk to follow. A light lunch will be served after the walk!

Do It For Daniel is a film that documents Daniel Olson’s story. The film was created to educate people about the impact of depression, anxiety, and mental illness it has on people and their families. Through education, and with YOUR HELP, the goal is to get this documentary into every high school in the United States and all distribution channels and together, we can help STOP THE STIGMA. Come to the community event and help support the goal of Do It For Daniel!

Admission is FREE, however, donations would be greatly appreciated to assist with various costs regarding the Documentary (i.e., making additional copies of the DVD, etc.).
