Eric Hipple, a former NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions, now the Outreach Coordinator and spokesperson for the University of Michigan Depression Center is the keynote speaker at this Community event. Eric’s life took a tragic turn in 2000 when his son Jeff died of suicide. Since then, Eric has devoted his energies in helping others to detect and treat depression and to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness. His primary message is one of hope and that depression is a treatable disease.
