This is our 13th annual Walk-A-Mile rally which is put on by Anti-Stigma Committee of the Gogebic Community Mental Health Authority in Wakefield, MI in collaboration with the Range Suicide Prevention Council of Gogebic County. The event was held at the Wakefield VFW on beautiful Sunday Lake. We had a phenomenal turnout of over 240 people this year!!!
The purpose of this event is help raise awareness of Mental Health issues and to reduce Stigmas people face when seeking or receiving Mental Health Treatment. We had students from Wakefield-Marenisco School District’s Student Council and National Honor Society volunteer to help at the event. We also had several classes of students from the Bessemer School District attend to show their support as well.
